About Luigi:

Since 1990, Luigi Faleschini, also known as Gigi Verdura, has been passionately growing vegetables, heirloom fruits, and berries, in his mountain farm using certified organic methods. Located at 700 meters in Valcanale (Malborghetto-Valbruna, UD), where Austria, Slovenia, and Italy meet, the farm lies in the heart of the Tarvisio Forest—one of Italy’s most precious natural areas. This pristine environment, rich in biodiversity, allows nature and agriculture to thrive in harmony.
The farm relies on organic fertilization, crop rotation, manual care, and natural treatments to protect the land and its ecosystem. During summer and autumn, fruits and vegetables are harvested and handcrafted just a few kilometers away in a small food lab in Pontebba (UD). Here, they produce vegetable preserves, compotes, jams, syrups, oils, and spreads with an authentic and genuine taste.

About Luigi's land:

Faleschini Agricola is based in Friuli Venezia Giulia region, a borderland of striking contrasts — where the Alps meet the Adriatic, and Italian, Slavic, and Germanic influences blend into something truly unique. From forested mountains to coastal lagoons, its landscapes nurture ancient grains, bold wines, and rare local specialties. Here, tradition runs deep, and small producers still work by hand, crafting flavors that reflect the richness of both land and sea.

"I adore the mountains. Where I live, here in Val Canale, Canal del Ferro, the mountains are still wild. We are in an unspoiled environment, it's the pure essence of nature. This area is extremely rich in water, vegetation, forests, clearings, and wildlife, and we truly live in an uncontaminated environment where the pressure of tourism is still very low."
